Can AI assistants read your Shopify app's website?

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity read app websites when merchants ask which app to install. If your robots.txt blocks their crawlers, or your copy only appears after JavaScript runs, they cannot quote you. Check it in ten seconds.

The site your App Store listing links to. We read robots.txt, the home page, llms.txt, the sitemap and the pricing page, like an AI crawler would. Takes about ten seconds.

What we check

  • AI crawler access. Whether robots.txt lets OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Googlebot read the site for live answers, and GPTBot, ClaudeBot and Google-Extended for training.
  • Copy without JavaScript. Most AI crawlers read the raw HTML. If your features and pricing only appear after scripts run, they see an empty page.
  • Clear signals. A title and description that say what the app does, the word Shopify, a link to the App Store listing, structured data, and public pricing.
  • llms.txt and sitemap. Optional, cheap, and they help AI tools find the right pages.

We fetch only public pages, at most five per check, identifying ourselves as AppNodReadinessCheck. We store the domain checked and its score, nothing else. See the privacy policy.
