Privacy policy
Last updated 1 October 2026
AppNod (appnod.app) is run by Zachary Isaiah Siecinski, an individual based in the Philippines (“AppNod”, “we”, “us”). We keep as little about you as we can. This page says what that is, why, where it lives, and how to have it removed.
What we collect
If you join the waitlist
Your email address, which page you signed up from, the link or campaign that brought you (for example ?ref=x, if there was one), and the time you signed up.
If you request a free report
Your app’s name and App Store URL, your email address, the category you picked, any notes you wrote, the link or campaign that brought you, and the time you sent the form. When we send the report we also record when it was sent and which follow-up emails went out.
If you create an account
Your email address, the apps and competitors you choose to track, your plan, and when you last logged in. Login works by a one-time link sent to your email; we store only a scrambled (hashed) copy of each link and session.
If you pay for a plan
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach our servers. We receive your Stripe customer ID, your plan, its billing period and its status.
If you open a shared report link
We count how many times each link is opened and when it was last opened, so the person who shared it knows it was read. We do not record who opened it.
When you visit a page
We count page views with a small counter built into our own server. For each view it stores the page path, the domain of the site that linked you (for example google.com, not the full address), and an anonymous hash. The hash is made from your IP address and browser user agent combined with a random salt. The salt is thrown away every day, so the hash cannot be linked to you or to your visits on other days. Your IP address and user agent are not stored.
Cookies
The public site (appnod.app) sets no cookies. The customer app (app.appnod.app) sets one essential cookie, appnod_session, to keep you logged in. It is not used for tracking and expires after 30 days or when you log out.
What we do not do
- No third-party analytics and no advertising or tracking cookies.
- No selling or renting of your data, ever.
- No fonts, scripts or images loaded from other companies’ servers on the public site.
Why we use it
- To run what you asked for: your report, your account and your plan (performing our agreement with you).
- To email you about AppNod’s launch if you joined the waitlist, and up to two short follow-ups after a free report, each with a one-click unsubscribe (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
- To keep the service secure and working, for example rate limits on forms and logins (our legitimate interest).
Where it is stored
Our data is kept in a database on a server we rent and run ourselves. Backups are kept on that server and on storage we control. It is not copied into third-party marketing or analytics tools. Because our service providers operate internationally, your data may be processed outside the Philippines; we only use providers that protect it under their own published privacy terms.
Who else processes it
- Our hosting provider, which runs the server the data lives on.
- Resend, which delivers our emails and receives your email address and the content of each email.
- Stripe, which processes payments if you buy a plan.
To produce reports we send merchant-style questions about app categories to AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic and Google). These questions name apps, not you: we do not send your email address or account details to them.
How long we keep it
Waitlist and free-report data: until you ask us to delete it, or until it is no longer needed for the reason you gave it to us. Account data: while your account is open, and for up to 30 days after you ask us to close it. Billing records: as long as the law requires us to keep them. Page-view counts are kept as totals.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete what we hold about you, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent, at any time. Email privacy@appnod.app from the address you used with us and we will act on it within 30 days. If you are in the Philippines, you have rights under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and can complain to the National Privacy Commission. If you are in the EU or UK, you can complain to your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to fix things first.
Children
AppNod is a business tool and is not meant for anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If a change is significant and we have your email, we will tell you.
