Which subscriptions apps do AI assistants recommend? (October 2026)
We asked ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Mode and Perplexity 50 questions Shopify merchants ask about subscriptions, several times each, with web search on and off: 796 answers in all. Recharge was recommended most.

With web search on, these third-party sites showed up most often in answers. Being described well on them is one of the few levers an app developer has.

Method
Questions are written to sound like real merchants: different store types, sizes and budgets, comparisons, migrations, and problems that do not name the category. Each is asked several times per assistant because answers vary. Apps are matched by name and known aliases. Only apps listed on the Shopify App Store are ranked; share of voice still counts every product the answers name, including platforms that are not Shopify apps at all. AI answers change often; treat small differences as noise. AppNod is independent and not affiliated with Shopify, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or any app listed.
